Do's & Don'ts of Having a Safe and Fun New Years!

New Years Eve is coming up and that means New Years Parties!! Some things that I think would be beneficial are:

1. Safety First!
 - If your going out on NY definitely come up with a game plan first. I.e. Who is driving? If you plan on drinking PLEASE do NOT drive! There are toooo many DUI related fatalities.
 - Stick with a pal! Alot of these parties are going to have people you may not know around. I'm not saying be paranoid, I'm just saying know the possibilities of things that CAN occur.

2. DO wear comfy shoes! NYE is not the time to bust out the brand new stilettos to dance the night away in. Trust me =(

3. Try something different! A new hairdo or eyeshadow will boost your confidence and keep you feeling great all night!

4. Stay away from mixing Christmas colors. I.e. Red top, green skirt, someone may mistake you for their Christmas tree.

5. I don't know about you guys, but everytime I uttered the words "this is going to be the best night ever," It has went straight to shit. So, try going about it a different way. Like, "I'm going to go out and have as much fun as I can without getting skankfaced, hugging some random person's toilet." =D Which brings me to my next point.

6.  EAT and stay HYDRATED! Eating something before you go out drinking can AID in preventing hangovers (as do Goody's Powders. Thank God for those). Staying hydrated will keep you from dehydrating if you do so choose to get skankfaced and sleep on someone's bathroom floor. =D

7. Saved the best for last. DO Kiss at midnight! Who doesn't love kissing? The fun and spontaneity of it makes it worth it.

Have a SAFE and FUN NEW YEAR!!

Saying Goodbye to 2010!

Ciao, Au Revoir, Adios, Goodbye 2010

Looking back through the year, I have learned and taught, loved and lost, lived and died. So many things can happen in such a short span of time.  Love has come and love has went before it even had time to sink in that there was ever love, even the smallest speck in the smallest corner of my heart, to begin with.  This year has taught me that it is possible to love again. "At it's very nucleus, love is a force that compels you to give your words, promises, and kisses away, throw them to the wind. Being kissed back is a pleasant by-product of the main- event- throwing your love about everywhere you go. Love is confetti! Give it to family. Friends, even those you want to squish in your arms. Love your hobbies, job, songs that make you do that one dance you wouldn't be caught dead doing in front of someone else. Love the stars. Love it all!" I have learned that you can't be scared to love. If you live your life afraid of heartache, you will end up a hairy mountain woman with no one but your goats to keep you company. Do not fear what lurks in the dark. Have faith. With love comes faith that it will stay. Faith is a big marshmallow suit that bumps you back and keeps you waddling on. Without love and faith, you have nothing; are nothing. Stuck, like rocks on the side of the riverbed.

Christmas Wants

As most of you know, I embrace my addiction as a shopoholic. Christmas is the WORST time for me! Every time I buy for someone, I also find something I like. It's a terrible thing.. I have compiled a *few* things I am really adoring right now. If I were to put everything, well, we'd be here 'til next year ;)

I have been wanting a white pea coat for the longest time. It's so adorable and would be a great change from my black and hounds tooth coats =)  This one is from the Victoria Secret Catalog. I wish we sold them in our store!

Next thing on my list is a pair of flat suede boots. I love suede for some reason.. I just hate that I can't wear it when it rains =( . These are also from the catalog.

Now, this one is my FAVORITE. This is a purse I saw in New York and Co. today. It is leopard print lined w/ faux alligator skin. They also had it in snow leopard but this one I just can't resist!

Lastly, I really want a CHI straightener! Am I the ONLY person on this planet that doesn't have one! I used one of my girlfriends one night while we were getting ready to go out and absolutely fell in love. It really makes my hair silky and doesn't fry it like the others usually do. =( .. Not to mention it's PINK!

What are some of your Christmas wants?

Winter Faux Pas

I am by NOOOO means a "hot natured person." If it's not 80.. I'm not comfortable. However, my all time favorite time of the year would have to be winter; well December rather. With the lights and the Christmas carols, the food and the family togetherness, how can someone not like December?  I hate being cold, but I love dressing up in big warm jackets and scarves. I have only seen snow twice in my life and I LOVE it! Here in south Alabama... it doesn't snow. It VERY rarely drops below freezing! However, there are some things I absolutely HATE about winter. Faux Pas if you will. The biggest thing is dry skin. It's primarily mandatory to lather up really well with moisturizers during the winter time. Especially if your anything like me and sleep in front of the fireplace on the floor or snuggle up by an air vent. My legs itch to no end and hurts to shave.. it's awful. So, I became very close friends with Suave Skin Therapy lotion. It works wonders for me and immediately relives my itchy leg problem.

Faux Pas 2: Chapped lips! We ALL suffer from this some point in time. I use Carmex. It's amazing =) that's pretty much all I can say about it.

Faux Pas 3: Dry, brittle hair and sometimes a flaky scalp! Who enjoys this?! No one!  I believe this comes from the extremely hot showers I take. I LOVE a hot shower or bath but my hair and skin beg to differ. For my hair, I use Dove Intensive Repair Shampoo and Conditioner.. Its moisturizes it and leaves my hair very soft. Not to mention I still use my HealthySexyHair oil serum I posted about previously.  I also shave with conditioner sometimes. It not only conditions your scalp but your legs as well and leaves your legs smooth!

What are some of your winter faux pas?

The Giving Tree, A Christmas Charity.

A local store is doing a Holiday Charity called The Giving Tree. It's a Christmas tree that is full of tags. On these tags are names, the names of children ranging from 5-10 in age. These children are underprivileged and come from a home of poverty. The tags have their name, clothing and shoe size, and a wish list of some toys they want for Christmas. I went yesterday afternoon to pick some tags off of the tree. When I got there, I read off some of the things these children were asking for. Now, when a 5 year old asks for pencils and underwear, well, it's something I could not pass up. I picked one.. then two.. until I had 6 tags, some with siblings on the cards. I wrote their names down and left the store, leaving 3 little tags on the tree. I get down the road and those 3 tags with those 3 little names still burning in my mind. So, I turn around an go back for the other three remaining tags. I completely cleaned the tree of all its tags. Leaving with a feeling of satisfaction, I realize, I have 14 children to buy Christmas presents for. Fourteen more smiling faces on Christmas Day!

More Hauls

Last week before Black Friday, I managed to get in a little shopping. Me shopping? Yea.. what's new right?

First Stop, Victoria's Secret. It was my off night and I wanted to get in a few Christmas presents (for myself) with my oh so fabulous employee discount =). I bought 2 of the glitter eye shadows In Silverdust and Stardust. I love them =) I play in the makeup everytime I work =) I also managed to snag the Bombshell perfume while it was on sale. The 1.7 fl oz bottle was only $25! To finish up my shopping there I hit the panty bar. I needed to spend a littttle bit more to get the pink tote!!

The free gift that came with the bag was a bottle of Heavenly Mist, a bottle of Love Spell Lotion and a Beauty Rush Lipgloss. =)

Second, and final, stop was Trade Secret. I have been wanting to try out the Dry Shampoo for a while. Working two jobs I do not want to have to come home and wash my hair every night. So, this dry shampoo helps for my "day after" hair. The OPI polish was 50% off and I LOVE the color pink, so I couldn't pass it up. I'll just add it to the other 6 pink polishes I have... =)

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show!!

Hey guys! Just wanted to do a quick post on the VS Fashion Show! The girls at the store all had a Fashion Show party after work. It was So much fun! The models were GORGEOUS and looked like they were having SOO much fun! The outfits were so extravagant and a bit crazy but sooo creative! My favorite was the Animal themed outfit with zebra wings that Alessandra wore. Gah, it was amazing!  Anywho, I have posted a picture of our attire for work. It's the VS Fashion show Tanks! I LOOOVE it! Not to mention I busted my butt for it! Did any of ya'll watch the show? What was your favorite outfit?

Face of Pink Friday at Victorias Secret!

Black Friday= HADES!

Little Miss Sunshine here had to be at work at Victoria's Secret at 5 AM! I got there at 4:30 so I could have a parking spot. Glad I did! People are INSANE! I was almost MAULED trying to get in the durn store! When I walked up to the door, there were people sitting on the floor LINED UP down the mall! It was INSANE! Emphasis on the INSANE.. Well, they had to open the door just enough for me to squeeze under and shut it back. Those women were banging on the doors! When it opened, it was exactly like you see on TV.. They went swarming everywhere! I was VERY surprised there wasn't a fire code because there were so many people you couldn't move.. the bathroom was the only place that had room to move! Anyway, I just wanted to share a little bit about Black Friday. The main point of this post was to show you my very tired FOTD.

And yes, ole girl needs a serious eyebrow wax.. you don't have to tell me lol.

Powder: Revlon Photo Ready in Light/Medium 020
Lip gloss: Hard Candy Visibly Wet in Beauty #240

It is very subtle and not overwhelming. Just a work face =)

To Lush or Not to Lush?

I have heard alot of really good things about Lush... but I'm a little scared to try them. I mean... it's soap. I was visiting their website and I seen some that I think I would be interested in checking out but I just can't bring myself to spend the $7-$10 for a bar of soap. Here are a few I think I would be interested in.

Lush Blackcurrant Bubble Bar- according to the website: "This fruity bubble bar gives the feeling of being hugged by a jolly blackcurrant"
I think I would like to be hugged by a jolly blackberry thing..

Blue Skies and White Fluffy Clouds: Deep blue bath water filled with the scent of frankincense and patchouli take you to a meditative state.

I have no idea what a Frankincense is and not sure if it even smells good but Lord knows I can use some meditation and it sure is purrdy ;)

I may need some more opinions before I take my Lush Leap. Have you tried it? What would you recommend?

My Perfect Imperfections Tag

Ok, so alot of people have been doing this tag. Most have been through a video but I'll just type mine.

My perfect imperfections. Three things that I'm not so thrilled with about myself that most people really wouldn't ordinarily notice.

1. One foot is slightly bigger than the other. Very unnoticeable but irks me when I go to buy shoes lol. I have to try the shoe on the foot that's smaller so it doesn't flip flop when I'm walking.
2. My Hands. I seriously feel like I have man hands.. I work with them alot and they get beat up and scratched up and, well, I just don't like them.
3. My Tummy. I have a few extra minutes hanging around my hourglass...

Now, three things that I do like about myself.

1. My personality. I LOVE my personality. I consider myself very fun and outgoing and I love laughing. I Laugh at the most random things.
2. My dimples. =)) I love my dimples hehe
3.I'm the one that my friends come to when they need the truth but don't want to hear it and I love it. I love the fact that they can come to me with anything.. and they know I'll always be here. I've made toooo many 2 AM friend runs with Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream and the collection of Audrey Hepburn DVD's.....

Date Night =)

My hunny bunny took me out tonight and I had an AMAZING time! We went to a Japanese steakhouse (Im eating my leftovers as I type) then we went to see Jackass 3D. It was so funny. Some parts I had to look away to keep from hurling but all in  all it was a very good movie. We managed to sneak in a few minutes to test out the camera on his phone and play with the different functions before the movie. This is what we came up with!

Victorias Secret, Target, and Traffik Haul

As you all know, I work at the greatest place on Earth, Victoria's Secret. Well, working there I find it very difficult to work instead of  "shop." So, all day long, I rummage through panties, bras, and perfumes and make a mental note of what I want and purchase it as soon as I clock out. This is definitely the wrong place to work for a shopoholic like me who should be in SAA classes... Shopping Addict Anonymous. Here are a few things I bought from there.

- Im sure most of you ladies know about the 7 panties for $25 deal going on through 11-14-2010, below is my choosing =))

My next stop was Target. I have been having the worse luck when it comes to finding the perfect foundation for my skin. I need one that wont clump together when my face gets oily and one that actually stays on. I tried the MAC prolong wear and loveeeed it! Only thing is when the makeup artist tried to match me, she didn't do a very good job. In Macy's lighting, it looked great! In every other lighting... not so much..I ended up looking like I had a penny stuck to my chin. So, that is $40 I can only use in the summer when my skin is actually a nice golden color... The foundation I have heard alot of good things about is Revlon's Photo Ready. So I decided to try it.. so far I love it! It actually stays in place! I also bought the powder to go with and an extra tube of Maybelline Liquid Eyeliner. Usually, I use Gel but with my dark eyeshadow it doesn't show up so well and the liquid eyeliner stays on longer. I also found some ELF products!! The Target in my hometown usually only sells the brushes so I was very happy to see these items finely displayed on their shelves! It's a "Shadow Encyclopedia" which is mainly a pallet of smokey shadows and a collection of glosses which I Loooove!

Lastly, Traffik..

Traffik is a shoe store in the mall in Columbus GA. It's the only one I know of close to me which is actually 1 1/2 hours away. They have the cutest shoes! The ones I purchased are black suede zip up front booties. They are amazing!

21 days straight I've been working... Thank God I loveeee my job!

Pink Cleats

The world today has evolved tremendously... for the worse. My friend sent me an email the other day and the content was so undeniably true it was ridiculous. It was called "The difference between 1950 and 2010" It was set up scenario style. An example would be

Scenario: Johnny takes apart leftover firecrackers from 4th of July, puts them in a model airplane paint bottle, blows up a red ant bed.
1950: Ants die.
2010: BATF, Homeland Security, FBI called. Johnny charged with domestic terrorism, FBI investigates parents, siblings removed from home, computers confiscated, Johnny’s Dad goes on a terror watch list and is never allowed to fly again.

I read in a newspaper article today that a high school football player was kicked off of the football team and his graduation put in jeopardy because of his refusal to remove pink cleats during a football game. The cleats were a gift from his 82 year old great grandmother who was a breast cancer survivor in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Since he was "removed" from the team, he would lose his PE credit which would put him under the required amount for graduation. Ridiculous. Anyway, the article went on to read that when the coaches were questioned, this was all they said "It had absolutely nothing to do with lack of support for breast cancer awareness. It was because he refused to follow coaches orders."

Drew Brees and Tom Brady can do it and make millions and one high school student faces a life changing experience during the most important time of his life.

State Fair

Tonight I was finally able to partake in the festivities of our state fair; also known as... The National Peanut Festival. We Alabamians are fond of peanuts so much, our fairs and even parades are held around them. I believe we even have a "Peanut Shrine" if you will...

Ok, no not so much a shrine but yes, we have a Peanut Festival. Seeing as how I work two jobs, one for an insurance company and one at the greatest place on earth... Victoria's Secret, I haven't had any time in my "oh so busy" schedule to enjoy the few days the fair was in town. So I was able to go tonight. I much rather would've went last weekend when it was 80 degrees out.. but no.. tonight... it was 30. The good thing about it being 30 out was I got to wear my new jacket. It's a hounds tooth pea coat. I felt fabulous with my new coat and my black suede knee high boots... until, I seen about 20 other people wearing the same thing. What a disappointment.

The best thing about the fair is the food! I LOOOOVE fair food! It kinda felt like Thanksgiving tonight I ate sooooo much! I did however, skip the rides for fear of hurling on my shoes.. and other peoples too =(

Halloween

I hope all of you had a wonderful Halloween! I know I did.  We were allowed to dress up at work which made it alot of fun, for once.  Working for an insurance agency, there really isn't a whole lot to choose from to be in the spirit and still be professional. So, the other CSR and I decided we would go as a "conscience" I guess you could say. She went as an angel, and I, the Devil. Ok, so horns, bow ties, and halo's really don't constitute as a "costume" but we had a good time either way.

This was pretty much the jist if the costume. Minus the horns.. which were incognito at the time..

Later that night, Some friends and I went to a "haunted trail." Just so you know, I am terrified of clowns, and at this haunted trail, I went with the "don't act scared because whoever is in that costume will pick you out" attitude hoping it would work just that way.. but no. A clown ran up behind me like he had a sixth sense for these things and chased me in circles around my friends. I literally cried. I'm a big baby when it comes to clowns, spiders, and windows without blinds (yes, windows without blinds.) Anywho, whoever was in that costume had it perfect because he sounded exactly like the clown from IT. He literally followed me through the woods. I think I knocked someone down trying to get out of there...

Saturday night, after trick-or-treating, I snuggled up with my lil man and watched Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin with milk and Halloween candy. The best Halloween ever I would say.

Did any of you see any crazy costumes this weekend?

Studies Show...

I read in an article that the amount of skin a woman should show to attract a man is only 40%.  40%!! Can you believe that!! So letting the junk in your trunk hang out isn't what a man wants to see? I know it's certainly not what I want to see. The article also said that "showing too much flesh puts men off because it suggests they may be unfaithful."

For instance: One Shoulder mini dresses.

I think they are adorable. But are they too much? Would you classify this as bearing a little more than necessary to attract the right attention or put it in a "if you have it, flaunt it" class?

I like it. I think its sexy and conservative. In a way. I think it says  " I know how to be sexy without being easy."  Its perfect for a night on the town, but probably not so much meeting the parents for the first time... in that situation stick with the moo moo.. Gotta impress the mom!! =)

Or how about the pencil skirt?

Now this, this I think is definitely sexy! It will go in the "if you have it, flaunt it" class. I love how she chose to be modest at the legs and a little more revealing up top. But not to much. This outfit shows she has shape without actually showing the shape in all its glory! I certainly couldn't pull it off. My hourglass has a few extra minutes around the edges but I'm working on those! =)

Do you agree with the study? Or do you think that universities are spending way to much time on useless information when they could be finding a cure for cancer?

Charlotte Russe, Body Central, and Trade Secret Haul!

Haul Time!!

I am putting up things that I bought on my recent shopping trip. I absolutely LOVE Charlotte Russe so you will be seeing ALOT of my stuff from there. I love how everything they have is so classy and chic yet can also be sophisticated and professional which is just my style.

First, is two rings I bought from CR. I LOOOVE the owl ring. It is a two finger connector ring and actually quite big. The second is an elephant ring.. pretty much self explanatory.

Next is SHOOOOES!

I can do a WHOLE blog on shoes.. not just a post.. but a whole blog. I am addicted.. I should join SSA (Shoe Shopping Anonymous) ;)
The ones I decided to get are black faux suede open toed booties. The heels are 6 inches. I wear heels 6 days a week and my philosophy... the higher, the better!!

My new headbands are also pictured. One has faux silver pearls interchanging with diamonds, and the second is black with a black and white polka dot bow. The third one I adore.. it gives me a sweet and innocent feel. It is white with white flowers.

Next will be the hair product, from Trade Secret, I talked about in my previous post. The little tube on the right is a conditioner that also helps with the feeling and structure on your hair.

Lastly I visited Body Central. They had a really good sale on jewelery but I could only find one I really liked. It is in the shape of a bird! It's so cute! The next thing I purchased from there is just a plain black T. It's so comfortable, I have one in grey just like it. =))

That's pretty much it! I just wanted to drop in and do a post on my most recent shopping experience! I will be adding to this later on. I have SOOO many more things! It literally took me an hour to post this because I kept falling asleep! Hope you guys enjoy!
